Non-conformist

LIFE IS GOOD.

I was talking to a friend today and cannot help but share his words of wisdom (or perhaps its a drunken ramble) either way, it made sense.

He pointed out that what we have now is amazing.

WE have RUNNING WATER and ELECTRICITY.  No matter what your economic status is, you may live better than a king. A king that lived 200 years ago didn’t have such luxuries. We are very lucky but do not always realize it.

Its easy to forget how to appreciate all that we take for granted.

We go to a grocery store to buy our food, its always available. We don’t have to grow our own gardens to eat or raise and kill our own chickens to put dinner on the table. Amazing. We have every convenience imaginable and yet some are still upset about what they do not have.

Life is simple. Our “actual’ needs are simple.

It’s our wants that get us into trouble. Figure out what your needs are. Are they met? Most of us have our needs met, but our wants are another story. Decide what you want and how much you want to work to get it.

Time is precious. We trade our time often in slave labor, from slaving over a computer to working a cash register, it doesn’t matter what the job itself is, what matters is that the job takes your time away from you. We exchange our precious time for an hourly wage or salary. Why? To afford life. To afford education, a roof over our heads, running water, electricity, entertainment and food.

This friend of mine has a non-conformist attitude. He doesn’t believe in doing anything he doesn’t have to.  He lives completely off the grid, works construction for barter/trade or cash. He wants to drink, smoke, read his books and come up with inventions in his trailer on a piece of land in the middle of nowhere. Doesn’t even have an address. He doesn’t have much, but he doesn’t want much either. He wants to spend his life as he sees fit. He’s a free man and lives in a way I cannot fathom and yet admire every day.

All of this appeals to my inner hippie… free spirit at heart and yet I cave to the modern conveniences in a way this person does not.

how true its nice to have net though to talk to you :)

Non-Conformity is often perceived as REBEL or RADICAL, rebel is looked at as something that is wrong. I would like to convey that Non-Conformity doesn’t have to be wrong. As a matter of fact, it can be a life changing idea for the good. In spite of this, precisely like you, I surrender to the modern conveniences. Happy Sparkling 4th of July!!!!

    • Aurora

      @ Hilton,
Agreed… the modern conveniences are far too tempting to let go of :)

Faceless grey suits sit in glass towers planning what we ‘need’ so that they can sell us a dream. Switch on your TV what do you see; someone telling you what you ‘need’, log onto the net, Google tell you what you ‘need’. “…you don’t have a 52” flat screen TV… OMG are you somekind of weirdo?…” It’s all about control, governments control us by fear, corporations control our desire to ‘want’ by telling us what we ‘need’ Bx

Ps. Amazing photo, great lighting, and the model’s not bad either ;-)

    • Aurora

      @ thelonelyroad,
Sometimes we get too caught up in the “American Dream” we’ve been sold.
Its easy to forget to snap out of it and be nontraditional. Exactly why I appreciate my friends perspective :)

While I agree with the Hippy/Non-conformist point of view to a certain extent. I also believe that the definition of the term Rebel/Radical change based on the times and, culture. While they mean well, the sixtys version has been corrupted. There is a certain group that has decided that somthing for virtually nothing is appropriate. I however, believe that the American dream can not be accomplished without Hard work and sacrifice. I am a U.S. Soldier and, I firmly believe that it’s very hard to know the worth of freedom and independance with out serving in some way, shape, or form. Not to say that you can’t be a patriot without being a soldier but, you should find a way to care about about your fellow countrymen/women in some way. I will say however, that as far as the country it’s self is concerned, People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.
-George Orwell- And, I WILL regardless of how I feel about your/anyones point of view, make good on that statement. Not sure why a comment on a website dedicated to a girl that via the internet helped me get through Afghanistan (and probably will again) would get me so worked up but, it did.

  8. lukiebro3

Summed up by my credo: Work is not what’s important in life; it’s what gets in the way of everything which is important in life.

The only reason most people spend all this time, money and energy is to get a job to do things they could have done anyway if they hadn’t been so busy trying to get a certain job.

    • Aurora

      @ Kristin Guttormsen,
All the more reason why its important to either find things we like about our work or love what we do.
Our time is more valuable than cash. With cash we have certain expectations, but our time is fleeting. We cannot save it, we cannot earn more of it
and worse yet none of us knows exactly how much time we have ahead of us. Time is spent foolishly, forever on a mission to obtain things we think we want.
Its not always easy to see it, most of us, probably myself included are caught up in all of this.
Just another reason why I really admire my friends perspective. It takes a lot of courage to do what he does :)

      • Kristin Guttormsen

I was…I dunno…lucky doesn’t seem like the right word…but fortunate to face the loss of a loved one while still in elementary school. Even though it didn’t end up happening until a few years later it taught me the delicate, transient nature of life during the most formative years.

I’m sure it’s why I’ve lived the way I have, and why I plan on passing with as few regrets and as little wasted time as humanly possible.

        • Aurora

          @ Kristin Guttormsen,
It seems like you have the right idea. Time is precious and our most valuable commodity ;)

On a related, but wholly unimportant, note; I did a thesis for Econ on establishing a national economy based on time as the currency…my argument being that $1 should be equal to 1 hour from our lives. It’s the only universal backing that enforces equality rather than stratified classes.

        • Aurora

          @ Kristin Guttormsen,
          Sounds like a great thesis!
Would love to have read it ;)

I have so many friends who are extreme liberals and who feel that we would all be better off living the primitive life much like people did 300-500 years ago. But at the same time they run off to see Magic Mike and Harry Potter in 3D and then go home and play their xbox before watching True Blood and ordering a pizza. Are things prefect? No. Is there something that can be taken from the lifestyle our ancestors lived? Most definitely. However I’m sure Paul Revere would have sent a text message to Lexington if he could have. I admire your friend and people like him. I would love to live off the grid and get out of the weekly rat race so many of us are in. I agree with You and Hilton, I enjoy our modern conveniences.

    • Aurora

      @ Moe,
I often fantasize about living completely off the grid, but there is no way I could do it.
Instead I live vicariously through my friend, in complete adoration for the courage it takes to live so alternatively
and continue to find happiness in it.
      xo- Aurora

      • Martin007

Many of us fantasize living completely off the grid. Well, I used to earlier but I just float along each day pass. I think we’d get tired from living off the grid. I have my wisdom. I’m no longer hobby philosopher. Life should be lived and not explained in every manner. I’m satisfied and apprechiate my everyday life. All the little things in life like having electricity and buy any grocery I like, trying to be humble, my family and frieds etc. Life facsinates me every single day.

        • Aurora

          @ Martin007,
Nice. I too find life fascinating, each and every day :)
          xo- Aurora

Its funny how the simple things in life tend to be the most complex to obtain or proceed with. I do believe your friend has figured it out where many are still scratching their heads on how he did it.

    Ladies and gentlemen!

I just came to your website and haven’t read much around here. Only Non-conformist and a few lines elsewhere. Your attitude amazes me as I’m European and never been to the US. Your attitude here reflex Aurora from the porn videos. You have an adorable personality. Humble and sweet. I wonder if you’re an angle in the manner I find angels.
I simply adore you. Maybe I register to your website some day. Just not now.

    Love

Hi Aurora, I have read you blog, how true I am pretty happy myself with very little & find all the artifical annoyances that man creates well annoying lol! Reading your blog I am amazed at how down to earth and grounded you are & sweet too. I have dabbled in the adult industry here in the UK & to be honest I find you attitude refreshing.

Well I’ve seen enough. This isn’t a porn site, it’s an ego-driven diary where once again, a porn actress has forgotten why people are interested in her work. It’s not for your philosophical ramblings, it’s to see you get fucked. This has been like going to a bar to order a beer and have someone constantly try and sell me an apple. There’s nothing more boring than a porn actress/actor who tries to make people see that she’s more than that. Do you really think anyone would be here if you didn’t have sex on camera. Get a grip. Save this rubbish for your friends and family. I wouldn’t pay five dollars for this, let alone fifteen.

    • Aurora

      @ John Mangen,
You are a hostile little creature aren’t you?
What you only want smoke and mirrors? Does reality scare you?

There isn’t a lot of ego in my blogs, though maybe you have a hard time reading
subtext. I hate to point it out but philosophical typically not egotistical… so how can I both be ego
driven and philosophical? You chose to come here. You chose to comment.

EXCUSE ME for not beating you over the head with cum shots, facials and ass rape to sucker you into
all my flashy non-existent join now buttons.

UNLIKE MOST porn websites this one was is personalized and actually run by me.

I am not trying to sell my website to anyone, I offer it up for anyone that is interested but I don’t
believe in pushing it. ALSO there is a reason my website is offered at an incredibly low monthly price…
what a cheapskate. I am not asking you to be a member in fact, I’d rather you never consider it.
I enjoy chatting with my members and frankly I doubt you could hold a civil tongue in your head.

You are so full of negative nit picky insults, geez, who are you anyway?
Bored. You are bored. Maybe lonely. Maybe you haven’t had anyone to fuck in a really long time
so you have a lot of pent up aggression and when you decided to visit my site you were disappointed
that there wasn’t a bunch of cocks & pussies thrown in your face immediately.
I guess if you are looking to jerk off to my free blogs you would have been disappointed which
then turns to anger and that brings us to you and where you are now.

I believe in the freedom of speech so I will continue to post your comments no matter how much you try to insult me.
Only makes you look bad anyway.

Maybe you are going through a hard time in life right now. It is after all a terrible economy and you want to
escape into a fantasy and what I offer is just a little too real for what you can handle right now.
      That’s understandable.
I hope your life gets better. Go find a website that makes you happy.
Leave positive remarks for someone you like instead of negative remarks for someone you don’t.
Don’t waste time on negative emotions. Life is short.
You should be happy, but if you just want a
place to vent your rage well, I won’t stop you.

Um, you need to get a grip. All I said was that I didn’t come to a porn site to see a headless rabbit. I’m an accountant – do you think my clients would be wrapped if I said to them that I would do their taxes but instead showed them my hunting pictures? It’s a matter of marketing. I wasn’t rude to you, I didn’t swear at you. Yet you are have nothing but abuse me. I was polite, but honest. If you can’t handle honesty, don’t publish honest comments. My god, now you have accused me of enjoying crack whores, calling you fat, leaving women who are injured in car accidents, struggling in the economy and called me nasty. Are you for real? You are incredibly rude, you swear, you rant and you are abusive. I have been a life long fan and bought all your dvds – which I am now going to bin. I am also cancelling the wishlist orders. You need to learn some manners. Your attitude is aggressive, illogical and demeaning.

    • Aurora

      @ John Magen,
Actually that isn’t what you said. Maybe that’s what you meant to say, but didn’t get across.
I don’t tell you how to do your work. I wouldn’t come into your office and give you advice on
accounting nor would I ever pretend to advice you on what pictures you hung on the wall.
I find what you say interesting in so many ways, but not as honest and innocent as you claim.
Again sorry you feel that way.
What’s with bringing up the wishlist again? Really? What’s the point?
I don’t care if you were going to buy something and have now decided not to.
That’s your prerogative, your choice to make… so why do you keep bringing it up?
      Seems silly doesn’t it?

      xo- Aurora

  18. John Mangen

um vent what rage? you’re the one venting all your rage. you’ve personally attacked me repeatedly. all i said was that it’s not a great idea to put a headless and gutted rabbit on a porn site (it is a porn site right, that’s what the warning at the start is for?) or to pass off old pictures as current ones. i haven’t shown any anger at all. i’m just stating fact. you’re the one who is swearing, spitting venom, personally attacking me and acting illogical. feel free to publish my comments, i haven’t said anything mean. i have followed your career since you started and thought you were actually interested in fans. i didn’t realise what a foul and abusive temperament you had. i wish i had known earlier, would have saved me alot of money on dvds, your wishlist and donating to your brother’s cause. ouch!

    • Aurora

      @ John Mangen,
You weren’t stating facts, you were expressing your opinions and the
overall giant point you made is that my site wasn’t worth anything…
actually to be clear I believe you said you wouldn’t even spend five dollars on it.
Seems like an opinion. Just saying.
However after you knocked my site and called me & it “ego-driven” among many
other comments I truly failed to see what a nice guy you were, must be my mistake.

I do find it interesting that you keep “dangling” all the things you were going
to buy or donate. Why? If you don’t want to do it then don’t. But to continue
to bring up how you aren’t going to seems like you are really trying to push
a point. I have no idea why you’d buy me anything anyway. Seems like you don’t like
me so why keep pretending this?

Also… just curious….are you waiting in front of your computer for my responses?
After I responded to the first round, you posted about six comments within minutes.
I am almost done for the evening, so if you are waiting to go another round,
it’ll have to be tomorrow. Hate to disappoint.

      Sweet dreams :)

Yes, it was all very entertaining. Pleased you enjoyed the commentary :)

It looks like somebody pissed in somebody’s pickel-jar. Good on you, Aurora, for not deleting the comment. Others would have deleted it and moved on. But, I hope this battle doesn’t escalate. Everybody should keep in mind if you throw dirt….you lose ground.

    • Aurora

      @ KCBushman,
LOL. Yeah, someone pissed in my cheerios ;)
It was a temporary amusement, no harm no foul right?

So I’m a little late to this debate but… goodness! John WTF? I do low cost wedding videos for brides and grooms on a budget. Just last month someone left me a comment “Your work sucks a$$”. Seriously? What did he accomplish by saying that? The black curtain that the internet provides allows people to be as mean as they want to be. Aurora, I love your site! I think its fresh and fun and one of the best adult sites out there. I love that fact that I can actually talk to you. I told all my friends about how we talked about a Red Panda! I adored you in your movies and this gives me more to love you for. I would hope that you continue this site long after your porn career is done (I think Asia Carrera still runs her site). The only reason I haven’t joined yet is because I’m poor as hell! lol Dispite that, I would expect to pay more for Aurora Snow’s personal, self made and managed site. John says: “There’s nothing more boring than a porn actress/actor who tries to make people see that she’s more than that. Do you really think anyone would be here if you didn’t have sex on camera.” Well John, isn’t there more to all of us than our job? I mean, I’m sure he has hunting and family pictures on his desk in his office. I don’t go to get my taxes done and think “God why is this guy trying to throw in my face that he has a life outside accounting.” I love going out to eat and having random rants with the waitress about her kids. I got stuck on a roller coaster once and had a nice chit chat with an employee who came about his college plans. I’m sure John’s client would enjoy being treated like humans rather than number and dollar signs. Because if he can’t acknowledge that a porn star likes organic gardening and seeks peace in her life by taking long drives into the great beyond, then I’m sure he can’t read anyone he meets. grrrrr…

    • Aurora

      @ Moe,
Thank you very much for your input. I appreciated that everyone has their own opinions, but what you say about the internet is true.
I think people who would never say something so mean in real life now have the freedom to be as mean as they have
always wanted to be from the comforts of their own home where no one can hold them responsible. Its harder to be mean to someone
      face to face.
I appreciate the support and fully intend to run a website after my porn career fades away and whatever else I do next takes center
      stage :)
      xo- Aurora

      • Moe

Sweetie your fire has burned bright for a long time and I don’t think it will so easily fade away. :) Whatever take center stage next I’m sure will be a show stopper just as you are now!

        • Aurora

          @ Moe,
          Aw, thank you so much.
I haven’t decided what comes next. To be honest I am in a transitional phase and part of that is seeking
new adventures and trying to decide what I want next :)
